This is a critical moment for UK aid. In November 2020, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a temporary reduction in the UK’s international aid budget from 0.7% of the UK’s Gross National Income (GNI) to 0.5%. Experts calculate that this decision will result in a reduction to the aid budget of approximately £4 billion and the announcement has sparked a heated debate about the potential for ‘catastrophic’ damage for the world’s poorest people.
This Advocacy Team webinar, What Next for UK Aid? will examine the implications of the proposed cuts to UK ODA for communities around the world and for the UK’s reputation on the global stage.
